The Business of Yoga grew out of questions people would ask me as I grew Daybreak Yoga. They wanted to Pick My Brain to learn how I came up with the ideas for my brand, how I got past my limiting beliefs, what systems used, and even how I stayed smiling and happy with my life.

I started with one-on-one coaching clients over the phone, at a coffee shop, and later, in my office at the Daybreak Yoga studio.

The clients were assigned books to read, homework to complete, and a timeline to stay accountable.

We would meet weekly or monthly, depending on their goals. They felt empowered to take the next step in their businesses and lives. Through my coaching, they saw much success in their businesses.

The coolest part about coaching is it transforms you, not just your business!

How it all started

You don’t have to be a Yogi.

After hosting my first Yoga Teacher Training cohort, I wanted to develop and produce something more formal, so I created the Business of Yoga Mentorship Program. It was for students who wanted to become business-minded yoga professionals.

The Business of Yoga has evolved to include online modules with a reading list, OM work, group coaching classes, videos, unlimited yoga, a private Community Group, and more. It is for anyone who sees value in the wisdom and ethics of yoga. This person is looking for something more, something different.

Our 10-week program is for those who have a business they want to grow or for those who have an idea and want help turning it into a business.

So do you have to be a yogi?

No, you don’t have to be a practicing yoga student. Maybe you have taken a class or two, or even heard that yoga is a good way to manage your stress. These are reasons enough to do this program. What is important is your desire to grow and transform.

We use the Wisdom of Yoga to

ground and grow our businesses.

What does that mean?

Well, it means that we use breath-work to help us stay present and not go the overwhelm as we create new products and services, attract new customers, and manage our team members.

It means we practice mindfulness and meditation to lower our stress levels. Coupled with an asana practice, studies suggest, that better sleep is a byproduct. How does being less tired or stressed and being more productive sound?

It also means we use the tenants of yoga, such as being aware of any harm we might cause to others as we grow our businesses, focusing on telling the truth when selling products and services, as well as only taking what we need knowing there is enough out there for all of us.

And this yogic philosophy can be coupled with any religious or ethical practice.

The Business of Yoga is learning more about oneself, one’s story, one’s strengths, and one’s purpose.
